Wavy Friends Journal feat. Nichelle
Nichelle (she/they) is a visionary human being based in the Midwest. Before connecting in real life over music, bubble tea, dress up and our mutual penchant for a good J, we first admired their expansive creative images and love of cannabis on Instagram. Nichelle spent a dream-like wavy weekend morning with us, sharing their relationship to our favorite plant. We are so honored to feature them in our first Wavy Friends Journal!
What's your relationship with cannabis?
My relationship with cannabis is spousal. Cannabis is my baby! My life partner! We go together real bad.
How do you prefer to consume cannabis?
I prefer to consume flower mostly and I occasionally dabble in edibles. But I’m truly interested in diving into other ways, like teas and topicals.
Where are you dreaming about traveling to and why?
I really am dreaming about traveling to Amsterdam lately! I really want to go to Amsterdam for the recreational bud and witness the cannabis lounges they have! They even have tours, similar to food tours, on boats 😻
What are your hopes and dreams for cannabis legalization in Indiana?
My hope is that legalization is not only considered for recreational use, but any incarceration of those who face weed related charges be released. It’s such a heartbreaking thing to know there’s profit being made within the cannabis industry while people, especially black people, rot in the pipeline.
Where's your favorite spot to get wavy?
I have a few favorite session spots. If not indoors in my own space, I like to stroll. My favorite spots outside are definitely rooftops or in nature, especially by the beach. I hope in the future there will be spaces encouraging usage that stoners can go. Imagine a bar/cafe where you can lounge and smoke?! 🤞🏾
